AUDE GENTON DESIGN PROJECTS EYELET Ruche Thousands of small pieces of straw are glued together on a mould forming a half sphere. This translucent honeycomb structure is then detached from the mould and mounted as a lampshade. The natural variations in size and colour of the stalks creates a vibrant pattern. The light through the straw gives a warm ambiance with golden reflections. Ruche (beehive in French) was awarded second prize in the design competition Prix Paille organized by the Strohmuseum in Wohlen, Switzerland. materials: oat straw, steel frame, compact fluorescent lamp size: Ø 45 cm design: 2014 |
